Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA)
in Bio-based Composites Available

 

Graduate Research Assistantships at either M.S. or Ph.D. level are available in the Department of Wood Science and Engineering at the Oregon State University.

 

Desired education background:

 

B.S. (for MS level GRA position) or M.S. (for PhD level GRA position), or compatible degree in:

wood science/forest products, civil engineering, materials (polymer) science/engineering, composites, chemical engineering (with a strong interest in polymers and/or adhesion) or related fields.

 

Students with other technical backgrounds and strong interest in optics, digital image analysis, computed tomography (CT), FEM programming are also encouraged to apply.

 

The successful candidates will work on cutting-edge research projects in the general area of advanced bio-based and hybrid wood-plastic composites in the Department of Wood Science and Engineering.

 

Dual majors with the departments of Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Material Sciences) are available.
