We offer the Bachelor of Science in Wood Science & Technology with five different options that enable students to tailor their degree to their specific interests. Our curriculum is demanding and the BS degree program is accredited by the Society of Wood Science and Technology as meeting the standards of the leading professional society for this discipline. All students acquire a solid foundation in the anatomical, physical, chemical and mechanical properties of wood, and gain a comprehensive knowledge of wood products manufacturing. Marketing and communication skills round out the career tools of our students.

We offer a Minor in Forest Products to other majors who wish to tailor their program to take advantage of the employment opportunities in the wood products industry.

We know that financial aid is really important. The College of Forestry and the Department award over $200,000 in competitive scholarships every year, in addition to those offered by OSU. The Department awards 12-16 WS&T Scholarships each year to qualified majors. Wood Science & Engineering majors who attain a 2.8 GPA or better qualify for $100/ quarter book scholarship (for a maximum of four quarters). The Department faculty also hire many undergraduates to work part-time on research or teaching projects.
