The Starker Lecture Series is sponsored by the Starker Family in Honor of T.J. and Bruce Starker and is supported by the OSU College of Forestry and the Oregon Forest Resources Institute.
In 2011, the OSU College of Forestry’s Starker Lecture series will join with the world to globally celebrate and promote the International Year of Forests by examining Oregon's place in world forests and forestry. Five lecturers, representing local, national, and international perspectives, will address global issues related to the state of the world's forests, the wood products market, urban forestry, policies affecting today's forests, and how each topic relates to issues here in Oregon. The lecture series will conclude with a field tour that provides a rare glimpse into the export of wood products out of the Portland area. The Starker Lectures are free and open to the public!
