Bob Flynn is Director, International Timber, for RISI. He has more than 30 years experience in the forest
products industry, including several years field work for the US Forest Service, nine years as seniore forester
for Champion International in Roseburg, Oregon, and 20 years consulting, for Jay Gruenfeld Associates, Wood
Resources International, and most recently for RISI.
Mr. Flynn's consulting experience has focused on international supply of and demand for timber and international trade in forest products. In addition, projects in recent years have focused on international timberland investment, primarily in South America and China.
In 2006/07, Mr. Flynn co-authored a study for RISI on the investment attractiveness and expected returns from plantation forestry in more than 50 countries, the Global Tree Farm and Managed Forest Industry.
He has a BA in geography from the University of Texas, a BS in forest management from Northern Arizona University, and a master's in economics from the University of Oregon.
