The Use of Fuelbreaks in Landscape Fire Management, by Agee, J.K. et al.Available in Word formatThe College of Forestry at Oregon State University is beginning a research project on the development and application of strategic forest planning methods for the fire-prone landscapes of Oregon. Scientists from OSU, the University of Washington, and the PNW Station will be involved as will managers, landowners, specialists, and interested citizens. The overall project goal is to combine sound scientific methods with community involvement and technical advice from the federal agencies to develop a model which will reveal the outcomes of various management strategies relative to achievement of resource management goals. The purpose of this website is to allow all involved parties -- research team members, graduate students, agency members, and the Applegate community -- a forum to learn of project progress and to post ideas, comments, and questions.
