One of the most important things to do to protect the environment is to let your elected officials know how you feel. The people who represent you in Washington and in Salem work for you! Write them letters, send them emails and call them on the phone. This is even more important now with the new administration in office working so hard to turn back the clock on environmental legislation. Learn about the Kyoto Protocol that Bush refuses to honor. Learn about global warming. Learn about the effects of carbon dioxide on the environment. What is most important is you become informed on the issues and make your opinions known. Our representatives in Washington and Salem won't know what the population they represent thinks about issues unless we voice our opinions. To make this a little easier on you, we have provided the names and addresses of people that you might want to contact. Happy writing!
