SUBJECT: Teleconference #10 Committee Meeting Notes
Enclosed are the notes from the tenth public teleconference call of the Committee of Scientists Federal Advisory Committee held February 2, 1999, from 12:00 am to 2:30 pm Eastern Standard Time.
The purpose of the teleconference was to continue to discuss the committee's draft report to the Secretary of Agriculture and the Chief of the Forest Service. The public could participate on the telephone call at the Washington D.C. Office of the Forest Service and all regional offices of the Forest Service.

Minutes of February 2nd Teleconference Call with Committee of Scientists
General Discussion of Revised Draft Summary
Dr. Dale led the discussion of a 2/2/99 revised draft Summary that was distributed to the Committee. Committee members provided comments on a section by section review of the revised summary. Dr. Sedjo, Dr. Noon and Charles Wilkinson had an extensive discussion on ecological sustainability. The Committee discussed the topic of a baseline for natural processes.
Printing of Report
Dr. Dale discussed the editing and printing of color maps for the report and summary.
Public Teleconference Call
The Committee agreed to hold another public teleconference call on February 23 from 11:00am to 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time. |
