To start Excel on the Novell network you need to be logged on and running MS Windows. To run Excel on your own PC you need to have your own local installation of Excel and be running Windows.
Excel requires a minimum of 4Mb RAM in order to run, but most people find that this makes the program slow and unable to cope with large spreadsheets so 8Mb is recommended. If you do find yourself having problems you may need to check the memory available on the PC by selecting the About ... option from the Help menu in the Program Manager. This will display a box containing two figures. The top one is the amount of memory available (it needs to be over 4,000) and the second one is the percentage of system resources available (this should be about 75%).
