machines in offices that are primarily used by one individual)
Installation of Outlook
To install Outlook you will need to:
-
First make sure that you don't have any unsaved work open
and close all applications. You'll be asked to reboot at the end of this
process.
-
Use Windows Explorer to browse to m:\win32\install\mail\olook.exe.

-
Click "Next" on the first setup screen.

-
Select "I accept the agreement" after giving it due notice.

-
Please note the User name and Organization
are not your own personal entries. The license for this CD key is
listed only under the user name and organization listed below.
-
User name: College of Forestry
-
Organization: OSU
-
CD key: refer to email

-
The "Standard Installation" option when you install Outlook
for the first time, provides full functionality without taking up unnecesary
space.

-
Select no on the "Outlook Mail Usage" screen regardless of
whether or not you currently use Outlook on your computer at this time.

-
On the "E-mail Upgrade Options" choose None of the above.
Once again, regardless of what programs you are currently utilizing.
-
Notice, you will need to select the "Corporate or Workgroup"
install option, as it is the only option which allows you to use the Forestry
Exchange Server.

-
Unless space is a consideration, select the default installation
location.

-
It will then take several minutes for outlook to install
all components. During this process, you may be prompted as to whether
or not you want to overwrite newer files with older ones. It is usually
better to keep the newer files.

-
After installation is complete, you will be forced to reboot
your computer.

- Now that you have rebooted, you are ready to Setup an Outlook Profile.
