Microsoft Office 2000 Installation

To Install Office 2000, open click on the Start button, then on Run. In the Run Menu type Q:\Win32\install\WORDPRO\OFFICE2K.EXE and press enter.

A window with installation instructions will appear. Write down the CD Key for this version of MS Office.

The following screens will appear as the Office installer prepares itself and the system for the Office 2000 Installation.

The following windows will appear. Please wait until you see this window. Enter your Name, Initials, Organization, and the 25 digit CD key that you wrote down. Or call the Helpdesk.

Carefully read the End-User License Agreement and select Yes. Then click Next.

Click Custom to continue.

By default, Office will try to install into the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office" directory. Unless you have a good reason to switch this to something else, don't. Click Next to continue.

Using this tree view, select the Office components that you want to install.

By expanding the tree, you can select different options. Notice the different icons. By right clicking on a component you can change the installation option.

Installation Options

  •  Installs the Selected Item to the hard drive
  •  Runs the Selected Item off the CD-Rom drive (or in this case, the Network)
  •  Does Not Install the Selected Item
  •  Installs the Selected Item on first use.

Please wait while Office copies files to your system and adjusts system settings.

Click Restart to continue the installation.

After restarting, Log in with the same NT profile that you used before restarting. Microsoft Office will continue adjusting system settings. When this window disappears, the installation is complete.
