OutReach in Biotechnology
Dr. Strauss directs a biotechnology outreach program that seeks to provide sound science and responsible context to help society in evaluating biotechnology issues. You can view its web site here. He has written several papers and testified to federal agencies on science-based reforms to regulation of recombinant DNA modified crops. One major paper can be found here.
Strauss is a Leopold Leadership Fellow

Forest & tree biotechnology Strauss is also a world leader in forest and tree biotechnology, particularly in regard to its environmental issues, research using genetically engineering methods, regulation, and field testing. You can view most of his recent publications here.
