Admission Requirements
Required Background
Admission Standards Successful applicants should have a strong science, engineering or business background with evidence of good communication skills. Prior experience or training in wood science is not a prerequisite for admission to any study area. Due to faculty interests, space availability, and limited financial resources, some otherwise qualified students may not be accepted. Applicants will be notified by the Wood Science & Engineering Department Head as soon as a decision is made regarding their application. GRE Scores: The Department does not have a minimum passing GRE score for admission, but those scores are a factor in determining admittance to the graduate program. To obtain more information about the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), visit http://www.gre.org/ TOEFL Scores: Department of Wood Science & Engineering minimum standards require a score of 575 or above for the paper-based test (PBT), 238 or above for the computer-based test (CBT), or 93 or above for the internet-based test (iBT). Conditional
admission for students presenting TOEFL scores of less than 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 93 (iBT) may be granted in unusual circumstances if
the applicant
is otherwise fully admissible. Conditional admission requires (1) on-campus
testing of English language proficiency prior to enrollment and (2) compliance
with an individualized plan for English and academic coursework continuing
each quarter until the student qualifies for regular admission. More
information about the TOEFL may be found at the following web site: http://www.toefl.org/ |
