Dual Major Programs

student conducting research in the fieldOne of the unique benefits to a graduate program at OSU is the ability to obtain a dual major graduate degree. This is one degree, but with two transcript-visible majors. Many students in our program pursue MS or PhD dual majors with wood science and civil engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, forest science, statistics or other fields.

Students must be accepted by OSU and by both departments offering the majors. Typically, students are accepted into one program and then apply for admission to a dual major with the second. The degree requirements for both majors must be satisfied, but only one graduate committee and one thesis or dissertation are necessary.

Dual major PhD programs are highly customized but follow the same pattern of organization and division of credits as dual major MS programs.
