Web Statistics

CoF subscribes to a Web Statistics service provided by OSU's Central Web Services. The reports are provided in an application called Urchin.

To access the reports, go to http://oregonstate.edu/cws/statistics/reporting.php and click on the server where your page resides. Unless your site uses an alias, it will be one of the following. You can tell which one by the url of your page:

• www.cof.orst.edu
• www.fsl.orst.edu
• wwwdata.forestry.oregonstate.edu

You will then be prompted for your ONID user name and password. Once in, use the calendar view on the left side of the screen to pick the date range you are interested in viewing.

To view the hits for a specific page, expand “Pages & Files” in the Reports menu on the left side. Click on Requested pages.

Enter a term in the Filter tool that will restrict the results enough to view file you are interested in. For example, enter ’intranet.php’ to return the Internal Web page. Click on the ‘+’ to view the results. You can also increase the number of results per page by changing the option in #Shown. Clicking on the Word or Excel icons will export your results to those file types, or use the printer icon to get a print-friendly format.

Find your page in the results and click on the small chart icon at the very right of the line. This will give you a graph of the views your page received over the date range selected.
