Critique: Researchable question and hypotheses (10 points)
Procedure
You
will critique the first draft of the researchable question of two other
students, and you will be graded on the quality of your critiques. You
should provide your classmates with constructive criticism on how to improve
their researchable questions (i.e., your written feedback will be given to
the student). Constructive criticism means that thoughtful suggestions for
how to improve the researchable question should be part of your critique.
Your critique should be one page or less, and should address all of the questions
listed on the critiquing web page, plus the following:
Did the researchable question have all the required elements, including a description of the:
- Researchable question itself?
- Rationale and significance of the question?
- Propositions that are assumed to be true (i.e., assumptions or axioms)?
- Propositions that will be tested (i.e., hypotheses or postulates)?
Is the researchable question (ARID) answerable by research, relevant to science and society, interesting and creative, and doable?
Were the hypotheses clear and testable?
If you do not complete
the assignment by the due date, a late penalty will be assigned using
the penalties listed in the late assignment
policy.
