Critique: Researchable question and hypotheses (10 points)

Procedure

You will critique the first draft of another student's researchable question, and you will be graded on the quality of your critique. You should provide your classmate with constructive criticism on how to improve their researchable question (i.e., your written feedback will be given to the student). Constructive criticism means that thoughtful suggestions for how to improve the researchable question should be part of your critique. Your critique should be one page or less, and should address all of the questions listed on the critiquing web page, plus the following:

Did the researchable question have all the required elements, including a description of the:

Is the researchable question (ARID) answerable by research, relevant to science and society, interesting and creative, and doable?

Were the hypotheses clear and testable?

If you do not complete the assignment by the due date, a late penalty will be assigned using the penalties listed in the late assignment policy.

Objectives and rationale

Upon completion of this exercise, you will (1) understand how to improve your researchable question by critiquing the work of others, and (2) obtain valuable feedback on your researchable question from one of your fellow students.
