Critique: Methods and expected results draft (15 points)
Procedure
You will critique a
classmate's methods and expected results sections, and you will be graded
on the quality of the feedback you provide. Your critique will
be submitted on the assigned due date, and then shared with the student you
critiqued. Your critique should address all of the questions
listed on the critiquing web page, plus the
following:
Did the draft adequately describe the methods and materials, including the:
- Proposed experiments or investigations?
- Materials and techniques that you will use, including their feasibility?
- Statistical techniques and other methods used to analyze the data?
Did the draft adequately describe the expected results and interpretations, including the:
- Results that will lead you to conclude that the hypotheses are proved or disproved?
- Scope of inference (i.e., to what extent are the results applicable to other locations, times, or situations)?
- Pitfalls that may be encountered?
- Limitations to the proposed methods?
If you do not complete the assignment by the due date, a late penalty will be assigned using the penalties listed in the late assignment policy.
