Term Paper Checklist
If you can't check all of the boxes below, you have not fulfilled the assignment requirements!
____ I signed up for an appropriate term paper topic on the Student Information Sheet, and my term paper is on that topic.
____ My paper addresses the general points listed in the linked page for my topic area.
____ My report references all of the required citations for my topic listed in the linked page for my topic area AND at least 5 additional refereed scientific publications.
____ My report addresses the topic areas and points listed in the linked page for my topic area.
____ The papers that I cited and referred to for my report are primarily scientific articles published in peer-reviewed technical journals. With the exception of on-line scientific journals, I have not used Web-based information sources.
____ I double-checked the Literature Cited section to make sure that all of the references listed are cited in the text, and that all of the references cited in the text are listed in the Literature Cited section.
____ My paper does not exceed 5 pages in length (double spaced), not including a cover page (which is optional) or the literature cited section (which is not optional).
____ My paper was printed using 12 point font with 1 inch margins throughout on a good quality printer.
____ I completed a spell-check of my paper to ensure that all spellings are correct.
____ I reread my paper carefully for grammatical errors and sentence structure.
____ I have attached a photocopy of the first page of each scientific article, book chapter, or book that I cited in my paper as an attachment at the end of my term paper following the Literature Cited section.
____ I have prepared a professional piece of work that I can be proud of and that reflects my abilities and the knowledge that I gained during the assignment. It is a paper that I would be comfortable showing to a potential employer or a graduate school admissions officer as a reflection of the type of work I am capable of.
