Study Questions & Readings

Study Questions
1. Relatively high levels of nitrogen result in high shoot-root ratios. High nitrogen supplies can stimulate late season growth. How would you schedule nitrogen fertilization for seedlings grown for droughty, hot exposure?

2. Storage impacts seedling vigor least if the plants have high levels of carbohydrate reserves at time of storage and if seedlings are placed in storage during mid-winter. How would you schedule the growing and storage of seedlings to be outplanted on the above site in May?

Poor field storage.
