OVERALL OBJECTIVES

FE 102 is a technology applications course that is designed to introduce students to formulating and implementing computational solutions to engineering analysis and design problems in a digital environment. Students will learn to evaluate engineering problems, formulate one or more solution techniques or algorithms, and code the solution using Microsoft EXCEL spreadsheet and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) software. Professionalism in completing and presenting laboratory exercises is emphasized. Laboratory examples are draw from a variety of engineering topics.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Students who successfully complete FE 102 should have the ability to:

Graph and analyze engineering data

Formulate and design solutions to engineering problems using contemporary digital tools

Solve single and simultaneous equations

Solve optimization problems

Write computer code to solve engineering problems
