Minors and Options

Advising Contact: Clay Torset, Head Advisor, 541-737-1592

The College of Forestry offers a variety of transcript visible minors for use by students in other majors. A minor is generally at least 27 credits of which 12 must be upper division. Substitutions are not generally allowed in minors.

The addition of a minor offers depth in another area, and is often a major selling point with employers. For example, the addition of a Forest Products minor to a Business degree would give a student a real competitive edge in entering that industry. Similarly, the addition of a Forest Management or Forest Recreation minor to a Wildlife degree would give a student depth in two areas.
