:: Home > Mills > Pulp & Paper Mill > Paper Mill Tour

From the top of the chip-belt tower we can see everything! The image above is a 360 degree panorama of the Boise Cascade Corporation mill in St. Helens, Oregon. To "tour" this great viewpoint, move your cursor onto the center of the picture, click down and hold it, then drag your icon left or right, up or down. You can spin around; just hold on to the hand rail! Be sure to notice the location of the mill: mills need to be near a water source because washing the wood fiber and moving it through the mill use water. The water source for this mill is the Columbia river, seen in the background. Pulp and paper mills also need enough space for large chip piles and settling ponds for the effluent, both of which can be seen as you "look around".
