Graduate Degree Programs

Graduate programs leading to the Master of Forestry (M.F.), Master of Science (M.S.), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees are offered in four departments of the College of Forestry.

The Department of Forest Engineering offers study in forest hydrology, timber harvest systems, logging engineering, forest operations, and a joint program in harvesting and silviculture with the Department of Forest Science.

The Department of Wood Science and Engineering offers concentrations in wood science, pulp and paper technology, computer-aided wood processing, timber engineering, biodeterioration and wood preservation, materials science/wood composites, and forest products marketing.

The Department of Forest Resources includes study in community and resource development, forest biometrics/modeling, forest economics, forest management, forest planning administration, forest social science, forest recreation, land use planning, policy, natural resource education and extension, remote sensing, and GIS.

The Department of Forest Science offers concentrations in forest ecology, forest genetics, integrated forest protection, forest physiology, and silviculture and is also the home department for the Sustainable Natural Resources graduate certificate program.
