Forest Management Minors and Options
Minors and Options in our curriculum are suggestions for organized programs
to develop expertise in a discipline related to forestry. You are not required
to complete a minor or option as part of your Forest Management degree program.
However, if you are interested in achieving uniqueness and corollary depth
in your forestry education, we urge you to consider one of the minors or options
listed in the following pages or design an individualized one in collaboration
with your advisor.
Minors officially consist of a minimum of 27 designated quarter credits of
related work, 12 of which must be at the upper division level.
Options officially consist of a minimum of 21 designated quarter credits of
related course work, 15 of which must be at the upper division level.
Courses required for an option may not count towards a minor. Students may
not take an option and a minor from the same field of study.
The minors and options listed in the following pages have been developed in
cooperation with other academic departments. Courses required for minors and
options are in addition to the core curriculum. Some minors or options involve
substitutions for, or modifications of, the core curriculum. Some courses may
require prerequisites not included in the core curriculum, and/or courses not
listed for the minor or option. Additional options are listed with the Recreation Resource Management degree.
Students who wish to design their own minor or option must present their proposal
to their faculty advisor.
Business Administration
See listing under College of Business in the General Catalog for minor requirements.
Students wishing a Business Administration (BA) minor must have approval from
the College of Business and must attend the BA minor orientation. Students
registering for BA courses must get a Course Restriction Waiver form from the
College of Business and register in person.
Fisheries and Wildlife
See listing under the Department of Fisheries & Wildlife in the General
Catalog for minors and options.
