The Starker Chair works closely with OSU Extension foresters, policy-makers,
woodland owner organizations, and other groups who share concern for
the state's private forests. The Cameron
Tract, a 260-acre demonstration forest donated to the College by
the Starker family, is a focal point for many Starker Program outreach
activities. The purposes of the Cameron Tract (at left) are to:
- demonstrate good forest stewardship
- experiment with innovative forest management
- generate income from periodic timber harvests to support the
Starker Program
