The Starker Program in Private and Family Forestry
- Outreach

The Starker Chair works closely with OSU Extension foresters, policy-makers, woodland owner organizations, and other groups who share concern for the state's private forests. The Cameron Tract, a 260-acre demonstration forest donated to the College by the Starker family, is a focal point for many Starker Program outreach activities. The purposes of the Cameron Tract (at left) are to:

  1. demonstrate good forest stewardship
  2. experiment with innovative forest management
  3. generate income from periodic timber harvests to support the Starker Program
