Introduction to GIS Applications in Natural Resources with ArcGIS

Who Should Attend?

ArcGIS is the popular and widely used GIS software produced by ESRI. The introductory GIS workshop is intended for natural resource professionals, analysts, and technicians who want to gain a basic knowledge of ArcGIS. Participants will learn how to use ArcGIS for natural resource applications as well as fundamental GIS principles and theory. A set of GIS laboratory exercises will give participants hands-on experience in using ArcGIS for natural resource analysis. Each participant is provided with a computer workstation during the workshop. No knowledge of GIS is assumed but participants should be competent in computer file management skills in the Windows environment. Participants who do not specialize in natural resources should also benefit from the workshop.

See the workshop brochure (brochure link is to the left) for a list of course topics.
