What is Extended Education?
One of the core missions of the Department of
Forest Engineering is to educate professional foresters and
other Oregonians about important issues and topics within Forest
Engineering. This goal is carried out through the activities,
shortcourses and programs offered through Extended Education.
The Forest Engineering Department has four faculty
members whose primary job responsibilities are in extended
education. However, other faculty members are also involved
in our extended education programs. For more information on
these individuals, please see our extended
education faculty page. If you would like information about
forestry extension programs, please visit the Extension
Forestry Program web site
Many publications have been produced by Forest
Engineering faculty, staff and students that are the result
of both our extension programs, and research activity. To learn
more about these publications and their availability, please
see the Forest Engineering Department's List
of available Theses, Publications, Technical Papers, Audio-visual,
and other media. For more publications and audio-visual
materials from the College of Forestry, please see the Forestry
Media Center or FRL
Publications web pages.
The College of Forestry provides programs and
events that respond to important issues and educational needs
of natural resource professionals and others through its Forestry
Outreach Education Office. See the Forestry
Outreach Education Office web site for more information
about the office and a complete listing of outreach offerings.
