Forestry Extension Program

Wildfires continue to be a major threat to people, homes and property, watersheds, and wilderness. From 2000 to 2003 wildfires in the U.S. blackened 23.4 million acres, consumed over 5000 homes and structures. The pricetag to suppress these fires was over $5 billion.


This website provides information for the general public, home and property owners, natural resource managers, educators and communities, on wildfire prevention, fuel reduction techniques, wildfire recovery, and provides a list of wildfire-related publications and other references.
