WHO ARE WE?
We are an informal social group providing student
interaction and activities with regards to forestry. New members are
always welcome. So come to our next meeting and see what it's all
about!
FORESTRY CLUB HISTORY
A four-year course in forestry was first offered
at Oregon State College (Now
Oregon State
University) in the fall of
1906 within the Department of Botany and Forestry under the direction
of the School
of Agriculture.
Scarcely two months after the fall term started, Professor E. R.
Lake met one
evening in his home with five forestry students, C. C. Gate, L. H.
Stone, B. B. Totten, H. L. Currin and A. B. Mitchell. The purpose of
the meeting was to establish a Forestry Club. The date was November

Announcements
Logging Sports
There is a competition at Colorado
State November
3rd. If you would like to compete, contact one of the logging sports
captains as soon as possible.
Fall Frost is November 10th. This is our home logging sports
competition. There is going to be a field cleanup as part of the
preparations. An announcement of the exact day and time will be
e-mail soon.
There will be no practice this Monday Oct. 08. For other practise
days and times go to the scheduale page.
Wood Cuts
Wood cuts have started! Currently there are wood cuts every Sunday
until further notice. There are plans in the works to schedule some
Saturday wood cut as well.
