Dear Colleagues

I have recently been trying to identify some Podocarp timber from Sumatra
which is being imported into New Zealand. The following tree species are
reported from Sumatra
Dacrydium beccarii
Dacrydium elatum
Dacrydium xanthandrum
Sundacarpus amarus (Syn. Podocarpus amarus)
Dacrycarpus cumingii
Dacrycarpus imbricatus (Syn. Podocarpus imbricatus)
Nageia motleyi (Syn. Podocarpus motleyi)
Podocarpus neriifolius
Podocarpus polystachyus
Nageia wallichianus (Syn. P. wallichianus).

Information on anatomy and identification of these trees seems to be
lacking. If anyone has any details on these timbers it would help me narrow
down the choice. I am also interested in durability as the timber was being
sold for decking. Thanks
