A little while back, I introduced some thoughts on fluid transport in trees=
and plants relating to gravity, during which I mentioned an experiment whi=
ch took place in 1995 where water was observed to flow vertically up a sing=
le open ended length of tube shaped into a inverted U tube with both ends a=
t ground level.

I will be filming some more on the return flow discovery shortly but feel t=
his is an important experiment that not only addresses cohesion in water bu=
t gives a clear understanding of bulk flow rates observed in trees which ca=
n never be addressed using the current accepted literature or the more rece=
nt inclusion of the tension theory.

I would very much appreciate any thoughts or questions on the video or the =
theory which the video and experiment was designed to illustrate. And if yo=
u could leave a comment or question on metacafe it will undoubtedly help to=
stimulate more interest and accelerate this debate to a conclusion.

Kind regards

Andrew K Fletcher

Would anyone know where I might find a good image (probably TEM) of a the=
 pit membrane from a Douglas-fir bordered pit=3F
  Thanks,
  Barb
