--=====================_30544406==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed Greetings all Wondering if there is any reasonably reliable way to distinguish between the wood of the southern yellow pine group (Pinus echinata, P. palustris, P. taeda, P. elliotii, P. rigida) and Radiata pine (Pinus radiata). Particularly plantation grown Radiata. This question keeps coming up in my little world, and I have yet to find an answer. Even confirmation that the wood of radiata canNOT be distinguished from SYP would be useful. Guidance to any supporting documentation and references would be appreciated. I have already dug through everything I have within reach, again.
