Since nobody posted a follow up on this excavated button I thought it might
be nice to report that at the meeting in Amsterdam "we" looked at the slides
provided and there was no doubt in the minds gathered there that this was
Guaiacum.

2) At a visit to Meemelink bookseller this week the owner complained that it
took such a long time to unload his last copy of the set by Moll and
Janssonius [on the woods of Java]. This is the latterday version, bound in
blue with gilt lettering after it was complete and kept around for some
decades by Brill and then remaindered. So if there is anybody dying to own a
copy ...

3) in the same vein: at my last visit (a few years back) there was a pile of
the translated key (by Janssonius) at Backhuys. Not nearly as cheap as when
the IAWA office dealt in these, but still ...
