Dear all, Just a reminder -- The Pan-American Regional Group Meeting is in Portland, Oregon, USA. on 13-17 July 2003. Regis Miller has received a nice variety of abstracts, covering topics from using wood from archaeological sites to interpret ancient environments to assessing wood quality with new techniques. Abstracts for the posters and papers received to date are on the IAWA web site, arranged alphabetically by author and can be reached from the url below. http://courses.ncsu.edu/classes/wps202001/IAWA/mtg.htm In addition to the scientific program, there is a day trip to Mt. Hood, with a drive along the Columbia River, and a 'classic' IAWA social hour, banquet (arranged by local host Clyde Calvin), and business meeting. There's still time to register (see meeting site above), so if you're in the US this summer, why not visit the Pacific Northwest and chat with a nice assortment of wood anatomists and expand your wood anatomical horizons. When Regis later arranges the papers in sessions, the program will be posted on the web site. E.A.
