Dear colleagues,
The new impact statistics of 2001 have recently been published by ISI. The 
IAWA Journal shows a continuing upward trend with an IF of 0.868 (from 
around 0.750 last year). Although modest in comparison with the IFs of more 
general international journals in  Forestry and Plant Sciences, this is a 
very respectable score, comparing favorably with such "competitors" as Wood 
& Fiber Science (IF = 0.453) and Wood Science & Technology (IF=0.432).
The IAWA Editors would like to surpass the 1.0 level, and hope to achieve 
this by attracting more review papers, and contributions at the interface 
of wood anatomy and developmental genetics, including molecular aspects and 
tree physiology.
