Cameron North Road Construction Project

Dump distance marked on driver side to get correct quantity of aggregate for the first lift.

Checking rock depth at centerline with a hand level and level rod.

Dumping aggregate for the second layer in a reconstructed section

Watering aggregate to be processed, spread, and compacted for the second layer.

Installing a rubber belt cross drain on outsloped road.

Short insloped section to provide drainage just above a switchback.

Finishing construction of a miniature ford placed in an intermittent stream. Fords offer reduced maintenance costs over culverts.

Woven polypropylene geotextile fabric being placed to improve bearing strength of the road. This section is wet, and became rutted druring rock haul.

Reconstructed, native surface 12-foot wide road with 4 percent outslope and no ditch for dry weather use only.

Class 100 riprap placed to armor fill around a 61 centimeter diameter culvert.

Armored ford

Offsetting the culvert 10 meters from the sag point of vertical curve decreases the quantity of fill volume likely to be lost in the event the culvert plugs and water overtops the road.
